Frank.S Anthony Foundation is a social entrepreneurial venture dedicated to achieving comprehensive development of   impoverished communities.
“Convert every village to a village of the Millennium”
We are driven to eradicate poverty and achieve food security in Sierra Leone by using agriculture micro industries to achieve sustainable development.

Our Story

In 2007 we conducted a need assessment survey in Vaama, Pujehun District in Southern Sierra Leone. The village of 850 residents lacked good drinking water, electricity, healthcare and schools. The nearest school is five miles away with no transportation.

The residents are subsistence farmers who cultivate only 1.3 acres of rice farm per year using local farming equipment and manual labor. All the residents demonstrated strong desire to develop their community, and send their children to school.

We have formed three Farmer Based Organizations(FBOs) in Pujehun District, Sierra Leone. We plowed and cultivated 350 acres of rice farm for FBOs.

Our approach to poverty alleviation

Sierra Leone lies in the rice belt of Africa, and it has approximately 100 million acres of arable land.

The foundation will provide micro loans to farmers to cover the cost of use of farm equipment, training, fertilizers, high yielding rice seeds and project management services provided by the foundation.

The foundation will be responsible for the day to day management of all projects from planting to marketing of produce.

Collaborate with our sister organization Salone Healthcare to provide healthcare services.
Provide electricity, which will be paid for by residents.

          Impact

In 2010 the foundation empowerd farmers in Tananinahun Pesse, Pujehun District to cultivate
500 Acres of rice farm.
