Development Strategy

Giving aid to poor countries, as it is currently practiced, has not been effective in alleviating poverty. Poverty is still pervasive, and development is lacking. Ninety percent of the population lives on less than one dollar per day.

Our Poverty Alleviation Strategies

Strengthening and enhancing the capacity of smallholder farmers to compete in the market place.
Provide access to market for small holder farmers by providing transportation, marketing services and finance.
Provide technical assistant, and improved farming techniques, and financing to small holder farmers.
Community and Development banks and credit unions will provide credit and banking facilities to small holder farmers and the rural population.
Creating jobs and income base for rural population, and enable them to pay for services and development projects in their communities.
We strongly believe that by creating income base for the rural population, and enabling small holder farmers who would typically cultivate five acres, to cultivate fifteen or more acres thus, significantly improving their income. Increased income provides them the ability to afford better housing, healthcare and send their children to school.

Our Solution

We will organize agricultural and farmers cooperatives that will provide capital, equipment, project management and modern farming techniques to small holder farmers. This will enable small holder/subsistence farmers to exponentially increase the farm land cultivated and consequently produce more rice and increase their income.
We will provide high yielding, pest resistance NERICA rice seeds to farmers. New Rice For Africa (NERICA) is a high yielding rice that was created by West Africa Rice Research Institute. It is seen as a beacon of hope for food security in Africa.
